Rules and Regulations

The association subscribes to All Rules of C.A.H.A. with some exceptions.

  1. All players must wear full equipment, including a CSA approved helmet, CSA face mask (covering the entire face), plus a BNQ (logo) neck protector. They must be worn at all times on the bench as well as on the ice. This includes Goalies.
  2. Players cannot play on any other organized hockey team (exception is Scout). This rule will be strictly enforced.
  3. Age groups:
    Junior 7 - 12 years
    Intermediate 13 - 16 years
    Senior 17 and up.

Note: The association has the right to move a player up or down a division. The executive also has the right to accept or to reject an application from a player. These decisions will be based on the player's ability to play hockey and will be decided in the best interest of the league.

  1. Each player must be receiving resource help in either elementary or secondary school. Any of our present senior players who are now working, will also be included. Any new player must be in school receiving resource help to qualify. Players not in school must have met the requirements before leaving school.
  2. The referees, convenor and coaches are in full control of the players, and will not tolerate any interference from spectators.
  3. Slap shots are not allowed. They will be called as a penalty by the referees.
  4. No Body Contact.
  5. A goalie cannot be pulled until the final 3 minutes of the game according to the arena clock, and cannot be replaced by any player who was on the previous shift.
  6. 6 Minute Rule: If a player receives 2 - 2 minute minors and receives a 3rd, 2 minute minor in the same game he will be ejected from the rest of the game. A player from the ice will serve the 3rd, 2 minute penalty. Two penalty's on the same call counts as Two Penalties.
  7. Each team is responsible for providing their own goalie. If the teams regular goalie is absent at the start of a game it is the team who must dress a player from that team to play the goalies' position. You must have 6 players and a goalie to start a game. There will be a 10 minute grace period for the team to dress a goalie. After the 10 minute period, if the team still does not have a goalie dressed, they will forfeit the game. The Convenor must be informed of any changes, and approve them.
  8. Fighting on or off the ice is an automatic suspension (suspensions). Fighting in the last 10 minutes of the game will result in being out for the rest of the game and additional game suspensions. A third man in a fight will draw additional suspensions.
  9. Any player that has been ejected from a game on three separate occasions, due to major penalties, will be suspended from the league for the remainder of the season including playoffs with no refund of registration paid.
  10. Any player missing 5 consecutive games without notifying the Executive will be suspended from the league.
  11. Any player hitting another player from behind, anywhere on the ice will be given a game misconduct or more from the referee. The executive may take further action after reviewing the incident.
  12. Any player who is an instigator in a fight will be given a 5 game suspension. A second offense of this rule will mean suspension for the rest of the season, including playoffs with no refund of registration paid.
  13. Foul language will not be tolerated on the ice, bench, in the dressing room or in the arena at all. Coaches are asked not to tolerate this kind of behaviour. Coaches may come to the executive for further action.
  14. To promote team play, a plyaer is allowed to score a maximium of 3 goals. Any additional goals will not count. If the officials decide a 4th goal was scored on pruporse, a penalty will be assessed.

Note: All rules, decisions, and suspensions are at the discretion of the league.
